Size Guide

Measure yourself, don't guess: the same size label fits differently from brand to brand. Measurements are in inches, with centimetres in brackets. If a product page gives a different number, the product page is correct for that piece.

How to measure

Stand straight. Use a soft measuring tape over thin clothing, snug but not tight.

  • Bust: around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level with the floor. Breathe normally.
  • Waist: around your natural waist, the narrowest part of your body, about 1 inch above your belly button.
  • Hip: with your feet together, around the fullest part of your hips, about 8 inches below your waist.
  • Length: from the top of your shoulder straight down to where you want the hem to fall.

Kurta sets, kurtis and anarkalis

Pick your size by your body measurements. The garment is made about 2 inches larger than your body so it sits comfortably. That is why some product pages give a bigger number: a kurta labelled "M 38" is the garment, made for a 36–37" bust.

Size Your bust Your waist Your hip Garment bust
S 34–35" (86–88 cm) 28–29" (71–73 cm) 38–39" (96–99 cm) 36"
M 36–37" (91–94 cm) 30–31" (76–78 cm) 40–41" (101–104 cm) 38"
L 38–39" (96–99 cm) 32–33" (81–84 cm) 42–43" (106–109 cm) 40"
XL 40–41" (101–104 cm) 34–35" (86–89 cm) 44–45" (111–114 cm) 42"
2XL 42–43" (106–109 cm) 36–37" (91–94 cm) 46–47" (116–119 cm) 44"
  • Between two sizes? For straight or fitted kurtas, go one size up: a tailor can take a garment in, but rarely let it out. For flared anarkalis, your usual size is fine.
  • Bigger than 2XL? Some kurtas have extra margin in the seams. WhatsApp us and we will check the piece for you.
  • Bottoms: check the product page for the waist range of the pants or palazzo.

Kurta length

Every product page gives the kurta length, measured from the shoulder to the hem. On a woman 5'4" (163 cm) tall:

Length Where it falls
36–39" (91–100 cm) At or just below the knee
40–45" (101–115 cm) Below the knee to mid-calf
46–49" (116–125 cm) Mid to lower calf
50–55" (126–140 cm) Ankle to floor

Shorter than 5'2" (157 cm)? The kurta will fall about 2–3" (5–8 cm) lower. Taller than 5'7" (170 cm)? It will fall about 2–3" higher.

Lehenga cholis

  • Lehenga (skirt): one size. Each product page states the largest waist it fits (for example, "fits a waist up to 44") and its length (usually 41–43"). It closes with a zip, and a tailor can take it in for a smaller waist.
  • Blouse (choli): comes as unstitched fabric, usually 0.8–1 m, enough for a bust up to 44". Take it to your tailor with your own measurements. The style in our photos is only a suggestion.
  • Checking the length: wear the footwear you plan to wear and measure from your waist to the floor. If that number is more than the lehenga's length, the hem will sit slightly above the floor.
